Who We Are

Networking at its best

The Oak Park-River Forest Condominium Boards Network (OPRFCBN) promotes "knowledge sharing" amongst members to insure efficient property management and an opportunity to be a member of a group purchasing organization (GPO). The knowledge sharing showcases a diversity of recommended service providers as:

a. building trades (i.e., electricians, plumbers, carpenters, roofers, heating and ventilation, elevator installers and repair, etc.)

b. financial institutions (i.e., auditors, bookkeepers, banks and insurance)

c. other (i.e., legal, information technology, etc.)

A group purchasing organization (GPO) helps boards and unit owners to realize savings and efficiencies by aggregating purchase volume and using that knowledge to negotiate discounts with vendors.

Best Practices

Assessments are essential for condominium associations to provide the necessary services to unit owners within the association. An appropriate assessment should be sufficient to cover normal operating expenses and set aside at least 10% in your condo reserve fund for capital improvements.

Spring Activities

Spring is around the corner and now is the time to insure your property is ready for the warmer weather. At the top of the check list are scheduling the air conditioner preventative maintenance (filter replacement and checkup) and readying your lawn sprinkler system.
